About Paul Perley Cellos

The goal of Paul Perley Cellos has always been to provide customers with unique instruments of high quality and professional sound. Paul Perley Cellos is a small, full service shop with a full inventory of fine string instruments, including cellos, violins, violas and double basses. In contacting us, you will receive prompt personal attention from either Melissa or Paul Perley. Both are performing cellists: Melissa has personally played every cello in the shop, Paul is an expert luthier. They reside with their family on Berlin Pond in Vermont. Paul Perley Cellos welcomes all customers, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, religion, or sexual orientation.

Our Story

In business since 1988, Paul Perley Cellos has placed instruments in the hands of professionals and students in all of the fifty states and nine foreign countries. Paul Perley has studied instrument repair and restoration extensively under Hans Nebel and Horst Kloss.

In contacting us you are always talking to an owner and we will spend as much time as necessary to make sure that all your questions are answered.

As professional musicians and cello teachers, Paul and Melissa Perley understand the importance of owning an instrument that meets both your creative and financial needs. Our goal is to unite each customer with an instrument that will make them successful at any level.

Our cello shop is located in beautiful Central Vermont where we also live, complete our restorations, teach cello lessons, and work. We pride ourselves on the personal customer experience that we provide to each customer, and customers are encouraged to meet us at our shop to try any of our instruments to ensure they find the best fit. For those who don't live nearby, we ship to anywhere in the United States and Canada, and are happy to set you up with a trial on the instrument of your choosing.
