“Degani Guilio Di Eugenio, fece Venezia” Also contains a repair label “… Antonio Lavezzari” This is a wonderfully made cello from the late 1800s in Germany with a lot of Italian characteristics and may have actually spent time in Italy. It has beautiful tone, the kind you can only get from a 100 yr-old instrument, with great focus, power and consistency. The varnish is as fine as we’ve seen in a German instrument: very reminiscent of Italy. It is a delicate model, in our estimation almost the perfect size and shape for a cello.
