Franciscus
Geissenhof European late 1700s
This is
a smallish cello of origin that is unknown to us. It is probably
Viennese from the late 1700s but it is not a Geissenhof.
Without using a lot words, it is simply the best player in the
shop right now and will likely be sold before this makes the
web site. Unbelievably smooth, dark and soloistic, it confirms
what Melissa, Rob and I have come to believe over the past several
years smaller cellos will very often outplay larger ones.
