When Melissa and I played through a selection of Pierre Gaillards, we discovered a Montagnana model in amongst the Strads. This one has the characteristics of the Pierre Gaillard Stradavari model with the rich depth unique to the wide Montagnana bouts. Like the P.G. Strad, it is exceptionally easy to play with an unusually large, dark sound. $2700 |
