Every
once in a while we luck onto a very well-made and varnished older
cello with very few repairs. The most major thing done to this
instrument was the f-holes being shortened (very tastefully and
skillfully) at some time in its life. It has the great, dark,
resonant sound of old wood, very rich C-string, and very consistent
throughout the register. Very quick response and extremely easy
to play. We wish we could find a dozen more cellos like it. |
